From a ranking perspective both of them are not in the top 200 universities according to the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF).

Allahabad is a central university while Lucknow is a state university. Access to funding is usually more in centrally funded universities. Allahabad’s Dept. of Mathematics is older. They have a faculty of 11 in comparison to 19 at Lucknow. The difference being Lucknow has Astronomy as an additional elective in their department. In terms of published papers by Allahabad’s HOD has more papers.

So taking all these into account we figure Allahabad has a better Mathematics Dept. We will also recommend that you talk to the faculty of each to further understand to take a hand on decision.

UGAT Admission test will be held in August 2020 tentatively.

Steps to Fill Allahabad University Application Form

Step 1 - Registration

Click on the official link allduniv.ac.in

Candidates are first required to select the class/programmes in which they want to appear in the entrance examination.

Enter the examination of your choice and "Click on Application Form and Proceed" button

Enter details such as name, date of birth and email Id.

Candidates will get an application number and password on their registered email account.

Step 2 - Filling up Application Form

Candidates can login using their application number and password received on their contact point.

Applicants need to enter the personal details like name, Date of Birth; email ID, mobile number, Aadhar Number, Parents name, etc.

Next, enter the academic details such as qualifying examination, subject of Choice for Admission Test, exam centre of choice, mode of examination, etc.

Step 3 - Upload Scanned Documents

Candidates are required to upload the scanned copies of the following documents in the specifications mentioned below -

Coloured Photograph

3.5 cm X 4.5 cm

JPEG/ .jpg

Signature

3.5 cm X 4.5 cm

JPEG/ .jpg

The image size of photograph should not exceed 80 kb.

Candidates must upload documents in the prescribed format only.

Step 4 - Paying Application Fee

Course fees for General category is  RS 924 for first year. RS 804 for second year and 804 for third year for general category.
