can i take spot admission in du with 90% marks?

anchaltibrewal2001 21st Oct, 2021

Hello Dolly,

Hope you are doing well.

The admission procedure in Delhi university for the academic year 2021-2022 is online based. Therefore, there are no chances of spot admission as such.

You have to take admission online once you are eligible under a particular cut-off list.

Hope this helps you. All the best!

I want to know how to calculate best four or three for DU admission for BSc (Hons) and BA (Hons).

mrinalini048 21st Oct, 2021

Hey!

To calculate the best of four percentage for DU admission, follow the below mentioned points.

  • Choose a subject( Commerce, economics, commerce, English or any other subject included in lists A and B).
  • You will have to select one language along with other subjects from list A and list B and you can choose one subject that isn't on the list A and B. Keep in mind that you have to select these subjects from your subjects which you had passed in 12th.
  • Now add up the percentages you've obtained( total the marks obtained in each subject and divide it with the total number of subjects.)
  • However you should keep in mind if you add more than one subject which is not in lost a and b, deduction of 2.5 will take place.
  • For physical education and music honours programme, physical education and music will be considered as elective subjects. For further information regarding calculation of cut offs, refer the link mentioned below. https://university.careers360.com/articles/delhi-university-admissions-how-calculate-best-of-four-marks#Method-to-Calculate-DU-Best-of-Four-2021

I failed in math class 12 but overall pass biology stream I have political science my honours paper can I take economics as subsidary paper in Delhi University can I take subsidary subject economics in Delhi University because I failed in maths

mrinalini048 20th Oct, 2021

Hey!

If you have taken admission in B.A.(Hons.) Political Science in any College of the University of Delhi (DU) , then if you want economics as a subject then you can choose economics as your GE subject, that is, Generic Elective subject. The Generic Elective subject option will be provided by your respective college and you will be required to choose the subject you need as your Generic Elective. You will get several subject options for economics every semester.

In case, you want to take admission in B.A.(Hons.) Economics in Delhi University, then you cannot do so because for that one needs to have studied and passed mathematics at the qualifying examination. But, having studies and passed maths is not a mandatory requirement in other Universities and Colleges because there are other colleges which provides the course of B.A.(Hons.) Economics without having studies maths.

If you have any more queries regarding this, you may write in the comment section or post your question.

Hope it helps!

I applied for the wrong course in du . what should I do ?

mrinalini048 19th Oct, 2021

Hey Shubham!

Even if you have applied in the wrong course, you can still change your course and even College according to your eligibility percentage and criteria in the next cut off. You will just have to make sure that you are eligible for that course and the cut off percentage for that course in a particular college. To apply in the next cut off, you must before taking admission cancel your application from the previous college and course. Also, remember that in one cut off, you can apply only once. Also, in case you don't have to take admission in any DU college then you just have to cancel your application.

If you face any issues or still have queries, you may write in the comment section or you may also post your question.
