Hi Mithila
You academic credentials are very good. 9-9-9 is a very good combination and hence I would say your profile is very strong. Being a university ranker you stand among the top/cream of the country. Therefore, CAT percentile can be in the normal range and CAT doesn't have to compensate for your Acads. Infact Acads will prove to be strong support.
To get into IIM A,B,C - you would need around 99.55ile and above. However, IIM B gives weightage to co-cirriculars as well. So you can expect a call at 99 too. Infact I know a perswon who has got IIM B call at 97 percentile in Cat'16.
For IIM L,K,I - it is safe top have above 96%ile though some people with 94%ile also get a call.
If you are looking at other top colleges like SPJain, NITIE, FMS, MDI etc., I would day a percentile above 98 is very safe and above 96 is decent. However below 95 may never get you a call from any top college.
All the best
Hello Ashiqnaseer
Pursue the field in which you are comfortable and feel that you can do something better and contribute significantly too. Yeah nowadays people only wants to pursue MBA to get placed. Let me tell you doing MBA is not a short cut to get placed. Making yourself worthwhile is imperative to achieve.
Giving you a clear picture of market demand, Btech with MBA is market demand. For finance B.Com with MBA and operations field is alfo an emerging at high pace. You will get placed only if you have proper knowledge about it . And an adage goes like this " do what you love and love what you do". So think about long term goal.
Incase you want to go for Btech, you should have passion for it because is there crowd too. What makes to stand apart is your zeal and curiosity and only achieving degree should be in your mind. And learning should be your only goal.
Though Science graduate do not have value in our country but US and Germany offering scholarships for science students to study there and get placed.
So immense opportunity is there awaiting, just focus on your learning part and growing with it.
Good luck for your career ahead
