how to apply VIT Pune managemetn quata

Abhi sonkar 29th Jul, 2025

Good afternoon,VIT Pune officially does not offer any management quota seats. All regular engineering admissions are conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) based on JEE Main or MH-CET scores.

Multiple sources, including official statements from the institute, confirm that management quota admissions were discontinued around 2019 and reinstated again. As of now, there is no formally recognized management quota

I have got E&TC in SIT Pune .ECE in MIT WPUPune .In VIT Pune management quota giving CS.Which college is better for all placement as well as all holistic developement

Ayush Madanpotra 25th Jun, 2025

You have three options: SIT Pune (Electronics and Telecommunication), MIT-WPU Pune (Electronics and Communication), and VIT Pune (Computer Science through management quota).

If your main goal is good placement and overall personality development, then VIT Pune is the best choice. It offers strong placements in software and IT companies. Even if you are joining through management quota, you will get the same placement chances as other students.

MIT-WPU Pune is also good. It has a modern campus and helps students build communication and soft skills. But placements in the core ECE field are less. Most students go for IT jobs.

SIT Pune is fine too, but it has fewer placement opportunities compared to the other two colleges. It is better if you do not get the other options.

So, if you want a career in software and good placements, go with VIT Pune. If you prefer a balanced college life with decent placements, MIT-WPU is a good option.

Hello

  • Not eligible for the general quota at VIT Pune with 62 percentile.

  • You could explore management quota (but fees will be steep).

  • Consider improving your score and reattempting JEE, or apply to other colleges with lower cutoffs.

I got 91.05 percentile in mht cet. Can I get into a tech branch at VIT PUNE

OISHEE BANERJEE 19th Jun, 2025

With a percentile of 91.05 in MHT CET, your chances of getting a tech branch at VIT Pune are fair but depend on a few key factors, including the specific branch you want, your category, and your home university region.

VIT Pune is one of the top private engineering colleges in Maharashtra, and branches like Computer Engineering, IT, and AI-ML are highly competitive. For these branches, the closing percentiles for the general category often fall around 96 to 98, especially under the open category from the home region. If you belong to a reserved category or are applying under a different region quota, your chances may improve slightly.

However, for slightly less competitive branches such as Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Instrumentation, or Mechanical, your percentile could be within the closing range in later CAP rounds. VIT Pune also sees fluctuation in cutoffs each year based on demand and seat vacancies, so participating in all rounds of CAP counselling, including the spot round, will be important.

In short, admission to core branches like CS or IT is difficult at 91.05 percentile in open category, but you may have a chance in allied or emerging tech branches depending on the trends this year and your specific quota.

All the best!

i have scored 80 percentile in jee mains january attempt 2025,i am a male from sc category and I live in Maharashtra, so can i get COEP or PICT Or VIT pune (if any good private clg in mumbai please suggest that as well) like top or mid branches

sadafreen356 1st May, 2025

With an 80 percentile in JEE Main 2025 and being an SC candidate from Maharashtra, you have a good chance of getting into a decent engineering college, especially for mid-tier branches. While you may not be guaranteed a top-tier college like COEP or PICT, there are still good options within and outside Pune. VIT Pune and other private colleges in Mumbai could also be possibilities.

JEE Main Percentile & SC Category:

An 80 percentile is considered above average, and as an SC candidate, this can be a good foundation for admission to several engineering colleges.

COEP & PICT:

These are highly sought-after institutions, and admission is typically competitive, even for reserved categories. While you might not get your first choice, it's worth exploring the possibility of getting into these colleges through state-level counseling or special quotas.

VIT Pune:

VIT Pune is a reputable private engineering college with good placement records. Your 80 percentile should put you in a good position for admission, especially if you consider non-CSE branches,

Private Colleges in Mumbai:

Explore options like MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU) or Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University College of Engineering in Pune. You can also look at other private colleges in Mumbai like Vishwakarma Institute, and DJ Sanghvi, which are known for their MHT CET-based admissions.

Consider MHT CET:

Many Maharashtra engineering colleges, including COEP, primarily use MHT CET scores for admissions. If you haven't taken MHT CET, consider it as an additional option, as it can improve your chances of admission.

Explore Other Options:

Don't limit yourself to just the colleges you mentioned. There are many other reputable engineering colleges in Maharashtra and across India that you can explore, particularly if you consider mid-tier branches.

Supernumerary Seats:

Some colleges offer supernumerary seats for students who have not been admitted through the regular counseling process, but have demonstrated a strong academic record.
