  It is mandatory for candidates to have taken 5 subjects in class XII or equivalent qualifying exam

The 5 subjects for B.Tech/ B.E. are:

1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject), 5-Any

I think its very difficult to get a seat for mechanical engineering at VIT vellore and in Chennai. But you can expect some students drop and they might call you , which is very rare. However, you can try for VIT amaravati and check out the seat availablity

According to your rank in VITEEE 2019 ,you will able to get seat in computer science engineering in VIT vellore campus as the previous year closing rank is 7000.

To be frank, securing mechanical in VIT with a rank above 70k is practically not possible. There is fierce competition for Mech/ ECE and CSE-IT branches.

If you have a below 50K then there would have been still some chance to get a mechanical branch in VIT but
