There is nothing such as free seat in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore. Admissions to all the BTech courses across the various campuses of the University is done based upon the candidates performance in VITEEE. The fee structure of the course depends upon the branch you are opting for and your rank in the entrance examination. There are five different fee category at the college the fee for category one is lowest and is around 2 lakhs per annum while the fee for category 5 being the highest and is around 5 lakhs per annum. Also I want to add that it is not possible to predict your category even your marks is known because it completely depends upon the choices made by other candidates and your performance among them.

For example for the same rank you will get Computer Science and Engineering in category 3 or 4 while for the same rank you will get mechanical engineering in category one or two easily so it is completely the game of preferences.

The eligibility criteria is passed bachelor's degree of three years duration such as BCA/BSc IT or Computer Science with mathematics at 10+2 level or graduation level securing 60% aggregate, final year/semester students too are eligible to apply however they should have completed the course prior to counselling of VIT,

application form is already released on 1st March, and last date is 20th May, slot booking will begin on 26th and 27th May, and exam in CBT/IBT mode will be on 4th and 5th June,

VITEEE is actually VIT Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology once in a year. This is a university level examination and the application is through online mode. The application fee is Rs 1150 for general category. The exam will be held in online mode. The duration of this examination is 2 hours 30 minutes.
Colleges accepting VITEEE score are VIT Vellore - Vellore Institute of Technology, VIT Chennai - Vellore Institute of Technology, VIT Bhopal - VIT University etc.

It is advisable to score at least 118 marks in VITEEE 2022 to get a good college. According to the expected cutoff of 2022, with greater than 118 marks, you can secure a rank of upto 250. With 113 to 117 score, rank may be 500 to 250. With 90 to 113 score, your rank may be 2500 to 501. As a result, you may get a rank of 20000 if you score less than 31.

First 20000 rank holders will go to the 1st round of counselling.

You have to consider the month in which you have passed class 12th as passing year in the qualifying examination. If the class 12th results were declared in the month of July in 2021 them your passing month will be July and the year will be 2021. If the results are declared in the month of March 2021 then you need to consider the passing month as March and passing year as 2021.

The passing year and the month will be given on the class 12th certificate. So please check the passing month and year on the certificate before filling VITEEE application form.

• The last date of application form filling is 30 May 2022

• VITEEE 2022 examination date is 17th june 2022

Total number of applicants is not known as application form is still being filled.

The cut-offs varies from campus to campus and branch to branch. The cut-offs will depend on factors like number of students appeared, number of seats available, category, difficulty level of the exam, etc.

Based on previous year's cut-offs to get B.Tech Computer Science Engineering branch in Vellore Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh you might require a rank below 14000 to be on safe side.

According to previous year's cut-offs, CSE in VIT Vellore campus cut-off was 7000 and for VIT, Chennai it was 14000.

VIT is going to conduct the VITEEE examination in a CBT mode or Computer Based test mode, which means that the student will be provided examination centers, where they have to reach and have to give the examination. The examination will be conducted  digitally by means of computers present in the examination center.

But the result of NEET UG exam will be published 25th July 2022. Another important things is your expecting Neet UG exam will be not so well or will not go in favour of you to get a good Government Medical College. So your decision for taking the BTech courses in Vellore Institute of Technology is right. After Taking  admission in Vellore Institute of Technology if you observe that the result of Neet ug exam is good enough for you to get a good Government Medical College then you should leave the Vellore Institute of Technology B.tech seat and join the Government Medical  For MBBS seat.

i would like to tell you that if you get a medical and VIT seat both, and then if you want to cancel the VIT seat, then you can do that, but there will be no refund of any academic fees except Caution Deposit . Refund will be made only after the candidate has surrendered the ID card, original fee receipt and the due clearance certificate.

further, If you want to cancel your admission from VIT Chennai you have to to send an email on admissioncancellation@vit.edu.in . however the full fees will be refunded after making some deduction for counselling process fee.
