I am from WBCHSC ( west bengal ) board .We were given two choices during admission in +1 , either math + computer science or math + bio . I chosed bio option .Now Bio is in optional elective subject option in my marksheet .Am I falling under additional bio category for neet 2021 ? just curious .

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 23rd Sep, 2020
Hi

Yes, you are eligible for Neet examination.

This is because,

Biology as an additional or optional subject is acceptable in NEET examination

So you are eligible for Neet examination even if you have Biology as an additional or optional subject provided you must have passed in English and in both the theory and practical of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50  % in aggregate of PCB ( in theory +practical) in 12th examination if belong to general category , or  at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to Obc/ Sc /st

This year presidency college kolkata is going to arrange the admission process in the basis of 10th and 12th board marks. I am from west bengal board. In 10th I scored 99 in phycl sc, 100 in math and 97 in life sc. In 12th in math i got 95 in math. will i get the chance to read physics in the cllg?

saheli samaddar 16th Aug, 2020

Hello,

First of all congratulations for your achievement.

This year the PUBDET-2020 examination and counselling which were to be conducted by WBJEEB stand cancelled due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

So admission will be held on the basis of the merit list and the minimum eligibility criteria is that to  Pass Class 12 with at least 70% aggregate and 80% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics combined.

I think you already fulfilled the criteria so just wait for the publication of the merit list. You will surely able to study in this college. Just hope for the best.

Good luck.

i completed class 12th from west Bengal board. can i laminate the marksheet and certificate? some suggest to keep them without laminate because college and universities stamps on them. but i want to keep them safe. please suggest me what to do?

S. Saha Student Expert 2nd Aug, 2020
You don't need to laminate your mark sheets and certificates to keep them safe. Because, in many cases the authorities ask to show the original marksheet and document. So in that laminated results will not be entertained. You can also keep them safe by keeping them in files away from moisture. This is the best way to keep things organized in locker at home. One thing you can do is that, take a plain white paper and keep your result within that paper means put a white paper on the result and another one under the result as sometimes, keeping marksheets in plastic files tamper its prints. Laminated mark sheets are not always accepted by authorities. Like in many interviews, companies ask for original documents. Laminating certificates and mark sheets tamper its originality. So it not recommended to laminate mark sheets.

Hello

It's ok even if you have failed  in your 12th math examination as maths marks are not considered for Neet eligibility but have you passed your 12th board in overall?

If you are overall pass in your board examination then yes you are eligible for Neet examination as you have got 87% in PCB and thus satisfy
Neet eligibility criteria says that,
to be eligible one must have passed in English and in both the theory and practical of PCB with at least50 % in aggregate of PCB ( in theory +practical) in 12th examination if you belong to general category , or  at least40%in aggregate of PCB if belongs toObc/ Sc /st

I have got 87 percentile in Jee Mains January & I have got 83 percentage in West Bengal Board Examination, Can I get any college in West Bengal for mechanical engineering?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 25th Aug, 2020

hi,

see in west bengal the engineering / btech seats for government and private colleges fills by wbjeeb score. now coming to the jee main reservation, around 5 % seats reserve for jee main. so it is quite difficult to predict in which college you may get admission in mechanical as per your jee main score. now jee main april session exam is yet to held and if this time number of candidates increased that have an effect on your current score and percentile. however cutoff score depends on certain more factors like seat matrix, number of applicants, questions difficulty level, students category etc.

you may use careers360 jee main college predictor tool to know about your probable college,
