Is any benefit for writing the GATE exam in 3rd year?

shravyamdsce 1st Nov, 2020

Hi Aspirant,

GATE Exam generally gets conducted in January/February. It means a third-year engineering student will be in the 6th Semester.

A 6th semester, Engineering student is not eligible to write the GATE Examination. In case you write the examination with some wrong entry, you will get the chance to write the examination, irrespective of the outcome.

The only advantage for you will be that you will get familiar with the real time atmosphere inside the examination hall.

Hi, I am 2015 batch mbbs student. Currently I am an intern. I am planning to take an year off for pg prep, so I wont be writing neet pg test of 2021. So will I be writing neet pg entrance exam or NEXT exam on 2022?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 8th Dec, 2020

NEXT is slated to be implemented from 2022. And so if you are planning on appearing for PG Entrance exam, it will be NEXT and not NEET PG. NEXT will have 2 sections NEXT 1 and NEXT 2. NEXT 1 is going to he theoretical questions in the form of Multiple Choice Questions and will be conducted just before commencement of internship soon after final year MBBS. After successfully passing NEXT 1, students will begin their internship. Those Candidates who clear NEXT 1, will also have to clear NEXT 2 which is the practical section separately towards the end of the internship. The score that you get in NEXT 1 determines your eligibility to gain a seat in PG after Internship. Marks secured in NEXT 2 is just a pass or fail type of examination and doesn't contribute towards allocation of a seat in PG. NEXT 1 is the qualifying and competitive exam. All the 19 subjects followed in the new MCI curriculum will be introduced in NEXT syllabus for MBBS. But the subject wise marks distribution will be different from NEET PG and FMGE. The clinical subjects will carry more marks disproportionately than pre and para clinical subjects.

I am a compartment student In intermediate with 76 percentage but I got above 9 points in btech so by taking gap for one year for writing my inter failed subject effect my placement??

Mrinalini Sarkar 20th Oct, 2020

Hello,

I do not think that would effect your placement as you have mentioned yourself that you got above 9 points in BTech. Yes, you would be questioned for the reason you took gap year but it is for a valid reason and you will be taking that to improve yourself . Apart from that they would test your in depth knowledge about your subjects and your problem solving capability.

Hope you got your answer.

Good luck.

I didnt get 50percent in physcis but other subjects like chemistry bio and English is got above and my 12th is 53.6 PCB total is 158/300. but still i have confusion about my admission in medical college and and the marks required for writing NEET. could you please say about both?

pdwords Student Expert 17th Nov, 2020
Hello,

You haven't mentioned your category, if you belong to UR  your PCB aggregate inclusive of theory and practical needs to be 50% , in your case 158 marks of PCB subjects make  52.6%, hence you're eligible to appear for NEET, in case of other categories such as SC/ST/OBC they require PCB aggregate of 40%, for PWD candidates it's 45%, apart from this you need to be 17 years old by 31st December of the appear year, passed physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology and english as core subjects, as of now there is no upper age limit, hence no restrictions as well in number of attempts.

I have qualified in jee mains 2020 can I write jee advanced 2021 without writing Jee mains 2021??

Hi aspirant,

You have qualified JEE Main this year i.e. 2020. See the JEE Main score is valid for one year only. Therefore, you cannot write JEE Advanced or get admission in NITs/IIITs based on this year's JEE Main score next year or any subsequent year. In order to write JEE Advanced in 2021 you will have to qualify JEE Main again in 2021 itself. Hope you understand.

Based on your JEE Main score of this year you can predict your college and branch options by using the JEE Main college predictor tool by clicking on the following link: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer
