Hello,

The MBA in Business Management course is available in Xavier's Institute of Management Bhubaneswar ( XIMB ), whereas the IFIM Bangalore provides the PGDM degree in various courses. Though the PGDM degree is equivalent to MBA, but there is no degree available for Business Management in IFIM, Bangalore.

Discussing about XIMB, the XIMB is a private institute providing MBA in Business Management, Executive MBA in Business Analytics and Business Management and Ph.D course in Management.

The total course fees is INR 19 Lakhs and the admissions are provided on the basis of minimum eligibility criteria as provided by the institute and the scores of CAT, XAT, GMAT and X - GMT scores. which college is best among IMI BBSR and XIM Bhubaneswar

Shudhanshu Gupta Student Expert 11th Feb, 2020
Hello.
IMI and XIM bahut comes under one of the top 40 business schools.
Comparison between both is quite difficult they both stands on the same level but we still have to compare then we can compare it on the basis of placement ,ranking and fee structure there is a slight difference in rating, the rating of XIM is good that's why there is a very good package placement and that's why the fee structure is high in this.
Best of luck.

I have got 93.79 in CAT, and will get a call from XIMB. My 10 and 12 is 90+ and Graduation(2017) is 82, also I have 28 months experience in HR in Chinese MNC, I am unsure about the placements in XIMB (as I expoect minimum 20 LPA), should I drop this year ? Next year it will be 40 months exp(Gen Ctg)

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 7th Feb, 2020
With your CAT percentile you can definitely expect a call from XIM Bhubaneshwar. But if you're looking for a career in Human Resources then XIBM is not a very good option. The Human Resource Management program is offered by XAHR which is under XU Bhubaneshwar. XIMB offers MBA in Business Management only. But the placements are decent for HR also. The average compensation package offered there lies between 9-10 lakhs and reputed companies like ICICI Bank, Wipro, Asian Paints, Deloitte, ITC and others visit the campus. The highest percentage is 20 lakhs. But there also only 70-80% students get placed. The fees for MBA HR is 16.9 lakhs

But with your scores you can also try XISS Ranchi as the academics and the placement scenario is absolutely same for HR but the fees for the course is 10 lakhs. The average compensation package offered there is nearly 9-10 lakhs with the highest package being 26 lakhs offered by Flipkart.

The other good colleges for HR you can check out through various exams like CAT/XAT/SNAP/TISSNET/NMAT are
  • SCMHRD
  • IIM Calcutta, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Indore, Kozhikode and Ranchi
  • TISS
  • IMI Delhi
  • NMIMS Mumbai
  • XLRI Jamshedpur
  • LIBA Chennai and others

XSRM is the college under XU Bhubaneshwar that offers the Rural Management program. The fees for the entire course is nearly 15.9 lakhs. It is one of the most preferred colleges for recruiting professionals of Rural Management and CSR. Almost all the students get placed. Reputed companies like ICICI, Bharti AXA, Amul, HDFC, Arohan Financial Services, Ujjivan and some other NBFC MFIs visit the campus. The average compensation package offered there is nearly 7-8 lakhs.

I have got CAT OA-89.83 %ile with VA/DILR/QA 58/85/97 X-91.2% XII-95.4% UG-87.6% No work Ex GEM. Any chances of getting call from IMI Delhi,XIMB and IMT Ghaziabad and converting it?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 25th Jan, 2020
With your CAT percentile you may not get a call from IMT Ghaziabad, XIM Bhubaneshwar or IMI Delhi as they require a minimum of 90 percentile in CAT.  These colleges consider only the overall CAT scores and not the sectional percentile so it may be a little difficult for you. But you have a pretty decent CAT percentile so you can definitely expect a call from the following colleges, provided that you've applied for them
  • KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research
  • Great Lakes Chennai
  • FORE School of Management
  • TAPMI Manipal
  • BIM Trichy
  • LIBA Chennai
  • LBSIM Delhi
  • BIMTECH Noida
  • IIFM Bhopal
  • FMS BHU and others

These are also very reputed colleges with almost similar placements as IMI or IMT. The academics is also good and they have a pretty strong alumni base.

My xat percentile is 76.77% and I m belong to obc category.. So can I get call from welingkar and kj somaiya nd great lakes, fore ximb colleges?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 22nd Jan, 2020
The following are the cutoffs for XAT released by all the colleges you've mentioned above ( these colleges don't have separate cutoffs for separate categories)
  • Welingkar Mumbai (80 percentile)
  • KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (85 percentile)
  • Great Lakes Chennai (90 percentile)
  • FORE School of Management (88 percentile)
  • XIM Bhubaneshwar (94 percentile)

You may not get a call from these colleges but you can still get some good colleges like
  • IIFM Bhopal
  • Praxis Kolkata
  • XIME Bangalore
  • Alliance University Bangalore
  • Christ University Bangalore
  • Great Lakes Gurgaon
  • IMT Hyderabad
  • NDIM New Delhi and others

These are also pretty decent colleges with good reputation among industries and you can easily bag a good job with an average compensation package of around 6-7 lakhs. The ROI offered is also good.

xim Bhuvneshwar admission procedure and suiitabiility

Soumya Kanta Sarkar 11th Jan, 2020

Hi Shanta,

I hope I am the right person to give you this information since I am pursuing MBA in HRM from Xavier University. Xavier Institute of Management is the institute under Xavier University and has the authority to provide specialisations like Finance, Marketing, Operations, Analytics and IT-Systems. Human Resource Management comes under the umbrella of Xavier School of Human Resource Management(XAHR).  Same is the case with Sustainability Management, Rural Management and MBF. They have their separate schools.X-UMG is now being changed to XAHS or Xavier School for Human Settlements.

Now coming to the fee structure:

  • BM-20 Lakhs (excluding hostel and other charges).
  • HRM-20 Lakhs (excluding hostel and other charges).
  • RM-17 lakhs(excluding hostel and other charges).

The exams that are accepted for admission are:

  • CAT
  • XAT
  • NMAT
  • X-GMT

The cutoff for the BM course lies at 91 percentile whereas for HR it is 85+. For RM course it’s 70+ percentile. However, these are the cut off percentile only for the Non-Odisha candidates. There is a 50% reservation for the Domicile candidates and the cut-offs are also lower for them.

Coming to the placements:

BM, HR and RM are the flagship courses that were taught under XIMB previously and have very good quality placements till date. The average for BM goes to 12+ lakhs per annum whereas for HR it goes above 11+ lakhs per annum. For RM, it is 7.5+lakhs per annum. There is also a gurantee of 100 percent placement almost every year.

The procedure for application is after you get all your results, you have to go to the website, fill the necessary application form. Then you have to submit your scores and pay the requisite amount online. After that based upon the criteria, you will be called for GD/PI rounds and based upon the suitability you will be granted “Selected/Not Selected” status.

I hope I have been able to solve your query. All the best!!!

i have scored 174 in nmat. Can i expect a call from ximb hr and also i am from Odisha

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 10th Jan, 2020
With your NMAT scores you may not get a call from XIMB Bhubaneshwar as they consider percentiles only above 85 in NMAT.  You'll get the percentile after a few days of the declaration of NMAT results. And here 85 percentile would be nearly in the range 190-210. But you can surely check out colleges like ICFAI Business School Hyderabad. Moreover if you are inclined towards HR domain then you can check out colleges through other entrance exams like CAT or CMAT.
