I got 81% in 10th, 73% in 12th and 83% in B.Tech. What are my chances to get a call from IIMs,XLRI or FMS? What percentile I need to score?

Ambika Barman 11th Jan, 2019

Hey!

You have a decent profile in terms of your past academic records. So, I would suggest you score as much as possible, rather in short prepare well. As you are from non-engineer background, you have good chances of getting call from IIM-A in 98 percentile. So, prepare well and ace the top IIMs. Best wishes!

Hello Is BMS is a university degree course?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 31st Dec, 2018
Dear Vijay, BMS is a 3 year Bachelor's degree. With your professional experience, post your graduation, you will be eligible for better package and promotions than what you are enjoying right now. I don't see any age limit for BMS course. The Eligibility criteria is that you should have passed your 10+2 from a recognised University. The admission is through counseling after the entrance examination. Please verify the authenticity of the course from Xaviers. Working professionals at times are ideally given lateral entry based on the professional experience. And at times, final year students start working instead of attending college and they can appear for exams right away. May be the caller was referring to that. You need to decide whether you want to continue working while studying or you want to take a break from work for couple of years while you concentrate on completing your Bachelor's. I am sure you BMS has also facility of studying through Distance Mode.

As in future I want to be MBA(HR). After my guraduation wt kind of job should I do which will be preferred by XLRI or other top institute

manisha.gupta 12th Dec, 2018

Job is rarely related for MBA, You can get into a good college with a good program that you wish to score well in the exams like Cat or Xat. and some Good extra curriculars with Good Past Academics. If you are opting for a job just explain them well about your Roles Responsibilities and about your company and What new you did there, This much will be sufficient to get admission in any top B School.

Good Luck!

i will give my graduation final year exams in june2019 i have filled xat form.will xlri would give me time for submitting my documents late

Ambika Barman 22nd Nov, 2018

Hey Poonam!

Whether you are taking the CAT, XAT, IIFT or TISS-NET, all the colleges give you time to submit the documents way after clearing the exam. You will be submitting somewhere in October or November. Whereas, you will join XLRI after clearing the exam by June. So, this much time is given to almost all the freshers. So, don't worry. And, being a fresher, I have gone through the same situation. And, I am telling you from my personal experience. Just think about clearing XAT for now, and getting XLRI. Best wishes!

Can I do bba and mba both.. .?

v neeraja 10th Nov, 2018

Hi Mr. Singh,

Yes, you can pursue BBA and MBA both one after the other. Once you complete 12th class you can apply for BBA from any college. Once the bachelors degree is completed you can pursue MBA.

However, if you are looking for colleges which offer BBA+MBA degree in the same college, like integrated course, you may find a couple of local colleges. Among the top IIMs, IIM Indore is special in this regard. It gives Bachelors and masters degree (BA+MBA) under the course IPM (Integrated Program in Management). Students undergo basic management courses like a BA cirriculum in first 3 years followed by the MBA course in the next two years.

Recently they have also introduced the quit option after 3years of BA. So you can do both Bachelors and Masters from same place and that too a top n otch institute. The intake is only 90 students and fee is 25L for 5 years.

Allthe best

XAT score is used to shortlist the candidates for the selection rounds which include Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Essay Writing. I am in third year of my B.Tech and i want to do MBA from XLRI, so please guide me how to prepare for it and when to apply for XAT.

Sarvesh Naik 21st Oct, 2018
Hi,
XAT will be conducted on 6th January , 2019.
Well all those who ask for a preparation schedule for any MBA entrance i tell them, that once you prepare for CAT you are ready to go.
A plan for you, since you have very less time,
Dedicated 9-10 hrs daily
Solving mock papers alternate days, and monitoring your performance
Read newspapers like, TOI, MINT, ET, The Hindu on daily basis, keep yourself updated
Read English books, read oxford dictionary if possible
Keep on practicing, and you are good to go.
All the best

zubin916 25th Sep, 2018

Yes if you have atleast more than 50 percent aggregate marks in graduation then you can surely get provided you meet minimum cutoff marks for XAT and score substantially higher and have given best in GDPI Rounds as well.

Yiur wrok experience can also b ecounted.

Its recommended to give topclass GDPi to get converted.
