Considering that Zoology is a Life Science subject, you may take Botany as a subsidiary subject. However, your choice of second subsidiary subject should also be from Life Science.

Most colleges usually offer Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and other related subjects as a subsidiary alongside Zoology majors.

Considering that you qualify GATE you will be eligible to apply for PhD at the IITs and IISc. Also, there are many research projects with stipend where you can apply.

There are certain government jobs too that hire on the basis of GATE qualification.

Well you might get admission but it will depend on your category cause different categories have different cut offs. So your category will help you in getting admission. Still the chances seem moderate for you getting zoology honors in the university.

Eligibility criteria for B.Sc zoology in Acharya Brojendra Nath Seal College -
