The eligibility criteria mentioned by the official website is as follows:
1.All candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree.(Anything is possible like zoology,botany,chemistry....etc.)
2.In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined)

You can pursue MSc. in zoology or you need to decide whether you are interested in pursuing MSc and then applying for Doctorate or you want to go for a integrated Post graduation-Doctorate course(a total of 5 years).Then you can appear in the exams like CSIR

After B.Sc Zoology Hons. you have many options. You can opt to pursue the course or go for the field in which you are interested. You can opt for M.Sc in Zoology and then go in the field of research. There are huge opportunities in research field.
If you
CSIR NET is for lecturer position however not in great demand for Zoology specially, its much recommended only for Life Sciences .
You should rather go for Abroad studies with Masters course in Zoology or Veterinary science which has prolific demand across developed nations and is highky skilled and niche
