Diploma is considered equivalent to 12th but when comes to JEE mains you can sit in the exam and but your JEE mains score will not be used for admissions into nits etc. You will have to qualify the exam in order to sit into JEE advanced where

10th board marks has nothing to do with JEE mains what you need is just pass your board in all subject. JEE mains will need your 12th marks that is you should score more than 75% in overall or in top 20 percentile.
