xat 2020 got in total 98 percentile but DM scored 16.524 percentage which is showing 49.407percentile... how is that possible?

Percentile refers to your relative performance with respect to the other candidates. X percentile means that you scored better than X% of the total candidates.

It's very good that you have score 80 percentile in verbal section , however XAT Percentile is equally important. Performance is calculated on the overall scores there is no thing like more or less focus. Keep trying, you will get through this soon.
