Given Net charge of the neutral object = 0.5 μ C

the charge of the electron = -1.6*10^-19

Net charge in the number of electrons = 0.5*10^-6/-1.6*10^-19

=-3.12*10^-12

The negative sign indicates that the number of electrons to be removed from the object.
