The average salary of an astronomer in Tamil Nadu is INR 50,000 per month. While the minimum salary is around INR 30,000 per month and maximum salary of an aerospace engineer in Tamil Nadu is around INR 8,00,000 or much more depending upon higher qualification and experience.

After the 7th Pay Commission recommendation, the basic IAS Salary per month is Rs. 56100 (Excluding TA – travelling allowance, DA – Dearness Allowance, and HRA – House Rent Allowance.) But it will vary as per the grade level .The maximum basic salary that an IAS Officer can get, that is the salary of the highest post-Cabinet Secretary is Rs.2,50,000 per month.

MVGR have good overall ratings. They have good and consistent placement record, average placement record is around 70%. Highest package offered is 24Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 1.8lakhs per annum and average placement record is around 7.5-8lakhs per annum. Top recruiters are Amazon, Capgemini, etc. They have excellent infrastructure and well qualified, helpful and supportive teaching faculties.
JNTU have good overall ratings. Both the colleges have overall similar ratings. Placement records are good but highly inconsistent. Highest package offered is 8Lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 1Lakh per annum and average package offered is 2.5-3.6Lakhs per annum. Top recruiters TCS, ZOHO, GGK, etc. They have good infrastructure and friendly, motivating teaching faculties.
MVGR is better in many perspectives.

So, firstly, your rank is a bit high, and you know that, but there is no reason to get disheartened, you have plenty of other options in your hand that you can opt for. To be very practical, with your rank, you don't have much chances of getting a seat in most of the government colleges, or even the top private colleges. In this case, you can either drop a year, and prepare well for the next year. But even if you do that, you should definitely participate in the counselling , to see if you get any good colleges, you shouldn't give up without knowing that.

As of now there has been no update till yet , but it has been said that NEET result will be declared as soon as possible till 12th october but this is also not sure , date may extend .
