18312 is a pretty good rank if your son wants admission in NIT's or a good B.Tech college. Students within the first 20000 ranks get good colleges according to previous years trends.

As for admission in HCU, the seats for integrated course under general category are around 20.

No you cannot change in the third round of JOSAA according to the rules only in the last spot round candidates who didn't get any seats can change it so fill your choices carefully you may not get another chance to change it

According to my knowledge ap caste certificate is not valid for ts EAMCET .all ap students are considered as OC candidates in ts EAMCET .all categories in ap considered as OC in telangana.so caste certificate is not valid in telangana state .you will be considered as OC in telangana

So you got a 1989 rank but it does not mean a rank in JEE Advanced. Your rank is not alloted in JEE Advanced Rank List.

Preparatory courses mean that for one year you will be prepared and trained in IIT, and then after one year you’ll be declared

EFLU PhD Application Dates, usually are in the third week of January. You can expect them to be anytime between 15-25 Jan 2021, followed by release of admit card and the EFLU PG and Ph.D Examination in February End. Hopefully the Covid situation will get better by then and examinations
