To join the Merchant Navy after Class 12, you must choose a course approved by the Directorate General Of Shipping.

• DNS
• B. Sc . Nautical Science
• Marine Engineering

Admission is based on a valid IMU-CET score, Medical fitness and clearing eye sight standards,.

After clearing IMU-CET, you can apply

After 12th (PCM):

Do B.Sc. Nautical Science or Marine Engineering from a DG-approved college → complete training → join a shipping company as a cadet.

Without PCM / after graduation:

Go for GP Rating course → onboard training → start as an ordinary seaman.
