A score of 127 in the AUPGAT entrance exam for MSc Zoology, combined with your OBC category, gives you a decent chance of getting into Allahabad University. The cut-offs vary each year, depending on the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, and seat availability. In recent years, candidates in the OBC category have managed admission with scores slightly above 120, so you’re definitely in the safe or borderline zone. However, your actual admission will depend on your Category rank in the final merit list, number of seats reserved for OBC candidates and the rounds of counselling.
You should definitely participate in the counselling process, keep your documents ready like your mark sheets, caste certificate, AUPGAT scorecard, ID, etc.Even if you don’t get a seat in the first round, don’t lose hope many students secure seats in later rounds.
Wishing you all the best!
Thanks for your question it’s a really common doubt. Here’s the basic difference:
Polytechnic College offers diploma courses after Class 10 or 12 in technical subjects like mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.
Where as Engineering College provides full B.Tech/B.E. degrees, usually after clearing entrance exams like JEE, CET, or state-level tests.
Polytechnic courses are generally 3 years long and are more practical in nature. After completing a diploma, many students also go for lateral entry into B.Tech in the second year, which is a nice shortcut into engineering with solid fundamentals.
Hope this clears things up for you!
Hello,
If you’re looking to pursue BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from a government college in Haryana without an entrance exam, that’s totally possible. Most government colleges in Haryana accept students based on Class 12 marks through a centralized admission portal run by the Department of Higher Education, Haryana. You’ll need to apply admissions through their official website when the application window opens usually between June and August. The admission is merit-based and done in multiple rounds. With decent marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths/Biology in 12th, and a good percentage generally 70% or more you have a good shot at getting into the good colleges.
All the best!
Hii,
As you mentioned taking Zoology as your main subject and Chemistry as second, and Psychology as optional in AU entrance, and it’s not reflecting in your scorecard, you need to reach out to the exam authority (Andhra University) directly.
Because entrance exams generally consider only the main and second subjects for calculating results. If Psychology was optional and not attempted during the exam, it won’t be added to the scorecard. However, if you did appear for Psychology and it’s still missing, this could be an error.
You can follow these steps:
Hope you will find it helpful!
good morning ,with neet score 358 you have variable chances in mbbs bds veterinary respects with qouta category .
MBBS Admission
15% All India Quota (AIQ):
Unlikely for MBBS. Previous years show SC candidates needed AIR below ~140,000 and scores above 490 for AIQ MBBS seats in West Bengal.
85% State Quota:
Slight chance in newer government colleges or semi-government/private colleges.
SC cutoff for state quota MBBS in 2024 was around 479 marks (AIR ~130,000)—so 358 is below that.
You may be eligible for management quota in private colleges, but fees are higher.
BDS Admission
AIQ:
SC cutoff for BDS in top government dental colleges like Dr. R Ahmed Dental College was around 570 marks (UR), so SC cutoff would be lower but still likely above 400.
State Quota:
Better chances here. SC candidates with scores around 350–400 have secured seats in private dental colleges like Haldia Institute or Kusum Devi Dental College.
Veterinary (BVSc)
VCI (All India Quota):
Highly competitive. SC candidates typically need 400+ for government veterinary colleges under VCI.
State Quota (West Bengal):
More promising. Some state veterinary colleges accept SC candidates with scores in the 350–370 range.
Keep an eye on West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences counselling updates.
Which Quota Is Better for you
AIQ Access to top colleges across India Very high cutoffs, especially for MBBS
State Quota Lower cutoffs for SC category, more seats in home state Limited to West Bengal colleges
so for your score and category, State Quota is clearly the better path especially for BDS or Veterinary.
good afternoon, with a NFAT score of 60.25, you're in the lower-mid range for admission to National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) and its affiliated campuses. Based on recent cutoffs and trends, here are some colleges and programs where you may have a realistic chance: Colleges You Can Target
NFSU Gandhinagar (Main Campus) Gujarat B.Sc. Forensic Science, B.Sc. Criminology Low to Moderate (depends on category)
NFSU Delhi Campus Delhi B.Sc. Cybersecurity, B.Sc. Digital Forensics Moderate for SC/ST
NFSU Goa Campus Goa B.Sc.–M.Sc. Integrated Forensic Science Moderate
NFSU Tripura Campus Agartala B.Sc. Forensic Science Higher chance
NFSU Bhopal Campus Madhya Pradesh B.Sc. Criminology, B.Sc. Psychology Moderate to High
Note: Admission chances improve significantly if you belong to SC/ST/OBC categories or if you're applying for less competitive programs like Criminology or Psychology.
I recommended Programs Based on Your Score
B.Sc. Criminology
B.Sc. Psychology (Forensic)
B.Sc. Cybersecurity (in newer campuses)
Integrated B.Sc.–M.Sc. Forensic Science (in regional campuses)
Apply to multiple campuses during NFAT counselling.
Prioritize regional campuses with lower competition.
Hello aspirant,
Getting admission in B.Tech is not as difficult as it may seem, but yes, the process needs a little planning and awareness. B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) is one of the most popular undergraduate programs in India, especially for students from a science background with PCM in Class 12.The most common way to get admission is by appearing for engineering entrance exams. The top exam is JEE Main, which is conducted by NTA. Your score in this exam decides your chances for admission in top government colleges like NITs, IIITs, and sometimes even private colleges. If you're aiming for IITs, then you need to clear JEE Advanced after JEE Main.Apart from JEE, there are state-level exams like: WBJEE (West Bengal),MHT CET (Maharashtra),COMEDK (Karnataka)and many more, depending on your state.
If you want admission without entrance, some private colleges also offer direct admission based on 12th marks, but usually, the fees are higher.Once you get a good rank or qualify through any exam, you'll have to go through counselling, where you choose your preferred colleges and branches.
You may not be eligible for admission colleges in pune , with a 60 percent in MH- CET , It is important to check the previous year cut - off on official website , but you still have changes in several decent private or other government colleges . You can also explore management quota seats if needed .
Hello Aspirant,
Normally the period between the final merit list and option filling for MHT CET (PCM) can be anytime between 01 to 03 days. It is important for candidates to check the official CET (https://cetcell.mahacet.org/) Cell website on a regular basis, this will give the candidates an idea of when option filling will begin, all options are based on the official CET Cell schedule since it may vary from year to year. Have your documents, your preferences of college available before the window to fill options opens up; it is brief and will matter for allotment.
good afternoon, with a 45,000 rank in MHT CET PCM, you're likely in the 60–69 percentile range, which opens doors to several decent engineering colleges across Maharashtra. You may not land in the top-tier institutes, but there are still solid options worth considering.
Here are some colleges that have previously accepted ranks around 45,000:
CSMSS Chh. Shahu College of Engineering Aurangabad Computer Science
Sanghavi College of Engineering Nashik Computer Engineering
Matoshri College of Engineering & Research Nashik Mechanical Engineering
JD College of Engineering & Management Nagpur Information Technology
D.Y. Patil College of Engineering Pune (Akurdi) Production Engineering (Sandwich)
Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology Navi Mumbai Instrumentation Engineering
Annasaheb Chudaman Patil College of Engineering Navi Mumbai Electronics Engineering
Mauli Group of Institutions Shegaon Computer Science
These colleges offer a mix of core branches like Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical, as well as tech-focused streams like IT, CSE, and Electronics.
