Congrats for the amazing rank. You can try for government colleges, since you have rank under 3000 you might make it, because in previous years intake for government college event went to 3500 rank. So you should try for the government colleges.

Hi Sneha.  Yes you can get admission for a BA Journalism course even if you are a science student,  but only after you complete your PU with the required percentage.
