Which option is better partial drop for neet or bioengineering. I am confused as to what to do at this point and parents are not getting my confusion so I really need help

Sonakshi Kumari 29th Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Both partial drop for NEET and bioengineering are valid options, but your decision should depend on your interest, preparation level, and long-term goals.

If you are truly passionate about becoming a doctor and believe that with focused preparation you can improve your NEET score, then a partial drop is a good option. It allows you to continue your education (such as in B.Sc or another degree course) while preparing again for NEET, ensuring your year is not wasted.

On the other hand, bioengineering is a promising and evolving field that combines biology with technology. If you are open to working in healthcare, research, or medical technology sectors, and are not strictly focused on becoming a doctor, then pursuing bioengineering from a reputed college can also offer good career opportunities.

Ultimately, reflect on your passion and preparation readiness. Choose the path where you see yourself growing and staying motivated in the long term.

All the best for your future.

While the 2023 cutoff for IT was around 9075 for the general category. The competition can vary each year. If you are applying through the management quota, your chances might be higher, as merit is a key factor in those admissions.

hi sir,my daughter neet marks 336 OBC category govt college mbbs seat possible

lisa 30th Jun, 2025

With 336 marks in NEET under the OBC category, it's unlikely to secure a government MBBS seat in India, especially in competitive colleges. While the minimum qualifying score for OBC candidates is 113, government medical colleges generally require significantly higher scores. Private colleges might be a more realistic option.

i got full marks in biology cuet but got very very low scores in chemistry and physics. are there any chances to get into any govt central uni like DU,BHU, JMI etc. I am ready to get admission in any science related course

Nikita shahi 17th Jul, 2025
Hii,
Scoring full marks in Biology in CUET is a great achievement, and it shows your strength in the subject. But low scores in Chemistry and Physics may affect your chances for some specific science courses, it doesn’t mean that you cannot get admission anywhere especially when you're open to exploring a variety of science-related courses. When it comes to getting into reputed central universities like Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), admission is typically based on your best-of-subject scores, depending on the course you're applying for. For many B.Sc. (Hons.) programs, especially in Biology-related fields like Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, or Life Sciences, your Biology score will be given the highest weightage.
At DU, different colleges and courses have their own subject combinations and cutoffs. If you're applying for a course like B.Sc. (Hons.) in Botany or Zoology, many colleges may consider Biology and English as core subjects and might accept low Chemistry/Physics marks if your overall percentile remains competitive.

On the other hand at BHU, they conduct CUET-based admissions, and you still have a fair shot for science-related courses, especially in the biological sciences domain. They often publish a merit list that gives more weightage to your best-scoring subjects.
Jamia Millia Islamia offers various science programs and some vocational or interdisciplinary courses that may not strictly demand high Physics and Chemistry marks if you're strong in Biology.

Since you're ready to take admission in any science-related course, consider looking into programs like:B.Sc. in Life Sciences,B.Sc. in Microbiology or Biotechnology,B.Sc. in Nutrition & Dietetics and more You can check

Also, you can check state universities or other central institutes where competition may be slightly lower and cutoff combinations may be more flexible.

Thank you and all the best for your admission!

I am Anitha 3A CASTE AND RURAL QUOTA AND I GOT 8340ranking in kcet practical Agri exam and 17145 ranking in bsc Agri kcet theory, I have any chance of getting bsc forestry seat in college of forestry sirsi or ponnampet basically I am form farmer family

Pradeepa P 1st Jul, 2025

With a KCET Practical Rank of 8340 and a Theory Rank of 17145 , and considering your 3A category with rural quota , your chances of getting a BSc Forestry seat in Sirsi or Ponnampet are low to moderate .

In previous years, the BSc Forestry cutoff ranks for 3A Rural Girls in Sirsi and Ponnampet colleges were usually within 2000 to 6000 (practical ranks) depending on category and availability of seats. Since your rank is 8340 , it is slightly beyond the usual cutoff range for these highly competitive colleges and courses.

  • Participate in counselling and include both Sirsi and Ponnampet Forestry colleges in your options.

  • Also, keep BSc Agriculture and BSc Horticulture programs in other universities as backup choices .

  • Monitor counselling rounds carefully, especially the second and final rounds.

what is the cutoff for imucet to get admission in tolani?

Ayush Madanpotra 18th Jul, 2025

For admission in Marine Engineering at Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI) Pune through IMU CET, you generally need a rank between 2,500 and 4,000. That makes you competitive for their programs. You also must pass TMISAT at Tolani and have minimum 60% marks in PCM and 50% in English from your 12th exams.

The final seat allotment depends on your IMU CET rank, your TMISAT score, your 12th-class academic marks, and a personal interview or medical test. Even if your IMU CET rank is within the target range, you must still perform well in TMISAT and meet the academic requirements.

You should aim to score well across all these factors to improve your chances of getting a seat.
