Hello Masuda,
Congratulations on completing your 12th with a good score of 73.17 percent, that’s a great achievement. Yes, BCA is widely available across many colleges and universities in India, especially for students from various academic backgrounds. Since you have passed 12th, you are eligible to apply for BCA even if you didn’t have Mathematics, although a few colleges may prefer it.
For instance, top universities like Delhi University, Christ University, Jamia Hamdard, and IPU offer excellent BCA programs. In terms of fees, it varies. Government colleges may charge around Rs 10000 to Rs 30000 per year, while private colleges may range between Rs 50000 to Rs 1.5 lakhs per year, depending on location and facilities.
Hope this helps. All the best!
Dear student, MHT CET UG Cutoffs – Key Highlights (2023–2024)
Top College Cutoffs (General Category – Approx.):
COEP Pune (CSE): Rank up to 7,500 | Marks: 165–175
VJTI Mumbai (IT): Rank up to 9,500 | Marks: 145–149
PICT Pune (CSE): Rank up to 10,000 | Marks: 140–144
SPIT, DJ Sanghvi (IT/CSE): Rank up to 12,000–13,000
Other Branches (like Mechanical, Civil): Cutoffs are lower. E.g., COEP Mechanical: ~43,000–47,000 rank.
Category-Wise Minimum Marks (2024 – Approx.):
General: 75+
OBC: 70+
SC: 55+
ST: 45+
EWS: 65+
PWD: 35+
Dear Candidate , Yes with 80 HP CET marks , you surpass typical cutoffs for state - quota entry into JNGEC. You are very likely to obtain a seat in core branches like Civil , Mechanical or Textile, more competitive streams like E&C or AI may require a bit higher score , but admission is still feasible with your JEE percentile backing it up .
80 mark in HPCET, it’s very unlikely you will get a seat in Jawaharlal Nehru Government engineering College or other Himachal Government engineering colleges. Chapati
Dear student, With 80 marks in HPCET and 45 percentile in JEE Mains , your chances of getting a seat at Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College (JNGEC), Sundernagar depend on your branch preference and category .
For General category , 80 marks are borderline for Mechanical or Civil Engineering, but too low for CSE or ECE, which usually need 90+ to 110+ marks. For reserved categories , you have a better chance , especially in less competitive branches.
Your JEE Main percentile (45%) is too low for admission via the JEE route at JNGEC, where CSE usually closes well below 100,000 rank. Recommendation :
Apply through the HPCET counselling process , especially for Mechanical or Civil.
Keep track of later rounds or spot counselling , where cutoffs sometimes drop.
Have a few backup options ready in other colleges if needed.
Dear student, Since you’ve completed your diploma , you’re eligible for lateral entry (direct 2nd year) into B.Tech Mechanical Engineering. That’s a great path if you’re looking to save time and get a solid technical degree.
If you’re looking for good colleges , you have both government and private options:
Government colleges like JC Bose University (YMCA) Faridabad , or state government engineering colleges are great if you want affordable fees and strong academics.
Private universities like Manav Rachna University , Chandigarh University , or LPU also accept diploma holders and offer modern infrastructure, good labs, and decent placement support.
Make sure to check if the college accepts lateral entry and whether they require a specific entrance test (like LEET) in your state.
Due to a technical issue or separate counselling, BPharma might not appear on the HPCET counselling portal.
Verify your eligibility and give it another go later.
If the issue persists, get in touch with HPTU.
Hi dear candidate,
Could you specify the particular exam in which the student has got 1,08,000 rank and which college you are planning to take admission in? Although, the Computer Science engineering branch is very competitive than any other branch like AI/ML, Mechanical etc. So with a rank of 1,08,000 chances for CS are tough however, core branches like Mechanical, Automobile etc. should be in your reach.
ALL THE BEST!

Thank you
Hi Atul,
With the score of 50% there two colleges I can suggest:
1) The best college for you would be Thadomal Shahani Engineering College (Bandra). It exclusively offers B.Tech in AI and ML.
2) Sardar Patel Institute of Technology: This is a very good college but it lacks B.Tech in AI and ML.
Good Luck !
