With a score of 307 in the HPCET, you’re in a strong position for B.Tech admissions across several colleges affiliated with Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU). Of course, actual admission hinges on a few variables: your category (General, SC, ST, OBC), the specific branch you’re targeting (like CSE, ECE, ME, etc.), seat availability, and, naturally, the cutoff trends from past years.
If you’re aiming for reputable institutions, you might want to consider Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College in Sundernagar, Himachal Institute of Technology in Paonta Sahib, and Green Hills Engineering College in Solan. These colleges are generally well regarded within the HPTU network.
For a more precise idea of your prospects, the HPCET College Predictor Tool on the Careers360 website is quite useful. It can provide a tailored list of colleges and branches based on your score, which is helpful for strategic planning.

While official answer keys are released only after the exam, many coaching institutes and online platforms publish guess papers and their answer keys before the exam to help students practice. These are usually based on the previous year’s trends and important topics. For MHT CET, focus on core subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology—depending on your stream. Practice MCQs from guess papers, but make sure you understand the concepts rather than memorizing answers. Solving these papers under exam conditions will help you get used to the timing and pressure.
Best wishes for your preparation!
Hello Aspirant,
Unfortunately, with a 42 percentile in MHCET Law 2025, admission to ILS Pune is highly unlikely.
Here's why:
For the 5-year BA LLB program, the closing percentile for open (General) category candidates has consistently been around 97–99+ percentile, even in later CAP rounds .
Expected cutoffs for 2025 remain in the mid-to-high 90 percentile or both Maharashtra and Outside Maharashtra applicants .
With a score in the low 40 percentile, you're well below the cutoffs required for General category seats.
With 40 marks in HPCET 2025, getting admission to a government engineering college in Himachal Pradesh will be very difficult, especially in high-demand branches like CSE, IT, or ECE. Government colleges like NIT Hamirpur or JNGEC Sundernagar have higher cutoffs even for state quota students.
You may have a chance in lower-demand branches (Civil, Mechanical) in spot rounds if seats remain vacant.
Heyaa! Yes, Absolutely you can, Being a 2nd year student of diploma and aiming for JEE main 2027 will give you a valid amount of time for preparation. Yes, diploma holders can appear for JEE main.Remember that JEE Main scores are not valid for NITs/IIITs admissions if you're applying with just a diploma without 12th.
