Dear student,
To be eligible you should have a score of 50%. But being eligible is not all that you would require. Due to high competition it would be tough for you to get admission in journalism since there would be many students with a better score than yours.

I completed diploma in mechanical engineering after my tenth. Then I did my technician apprentice training in BHEL. After that I joined engineering directly in the second year (lateral entry) . I did not study +2 . Can I apply for UPSC IES exam ??????

Yes you are eligible to  apply for UPSC IES examination but your age limit mus be between 21 to 30 years old. Other wise gap is doesn't matter. Be prepare yourself and it's a very good opportunity for your future.

This year the minimum cut off of the BJMC is just 50%. So according to that make sure that your rank should be more than 50% to get admission.

You have good percentage in diploma so need not worry about getting a college. You will have many good options .However the cutoff requirements may vary little from college to college based on the number of diploma holders applying and the overall competition for the chosen branch

yes, you can, since you have Diploma in Electrical Engineering, you may have issues in registering for a B.Tech program in Civil in some Institutes or Part Time courses/disciplines at NITs. Though it is always advised to go for a full time Lateral Entry Degree (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering
