In order to get admission in any college in India admission is bases on two criteria. The first one is eligibility criteria and the second one is selection criteria.

Almost each college puts a certain limit on 10+2 board examination as the eligibility criteria. To get admission in such Institution the candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with a recognised board and should have secured not less than 50% marks( it is the minimum though there are exceptions where it is 60% or more).

Following this if you have got 78% then you are in safe zone and you will get admission in that college.
