A car has two wipers which do not overlap each viper has a blade of length 25 CM sweeping through an angle of 150 degree find the total area clean at each shape of the blades
Hi Aman,
This is the solution.
Each wiper sweeps a sector of a circle.
Radius $r=25 \mathrm{~cm}$, angle $=150^{\circ}$
Area cleaned by one wiper
$
=\frac{150}{360} \pi r^2=\frac{5}{12} \pi(25)^2=\frac{3125 \pi}{12} \mathrm{~cm}^2
$
Since two wipers do not overlap,
Total cleaned area
$
=2 \times \frac{3125 \pi}{12}=\frac{3125 \pi}{6} \mathrm{~cm}^2 \approx 1636 \mathrm{~cm}^2 .
$
