Correct Answer: 6
Solution :
Given,
Speed of a man = 6 m/s
Time = 20 minutes
Time taken by a woman to cover the same distance = 1.2 hours
We know, Distance = Speed × Time
Speed of a man = 6m/s
⇒ 6m/s = 6 × $\frac{18}{5}$ = 21.6 km/hr
Now, Time = 20 min = $\frac{20}{60}$ h = $\frac{1}{3}$ hr
⇒ Distance = Speed × Time = 21.6 × $\frac{1}{3}$ = 7.2 km
Now, As woman covers same distance = 7.2 km, Time taken = 1.2 hours
⇒ Speed = $\frac{\text{Distance}}{\text{Time}}=\frac{7.2}{1.2} = 6$ km/hr
Hence, the correct answer is 6 km/hr.
