A trader marked up the price of a product by 75%. When the discount was decreased from 50% to 25%, his profit increased by rs.210. What is the cost of the product?
Yukta:,
Let the real price of product be X
Marked price=75% 3x/4
X+3x/4=7x/4
When the discount decreased from 50% to 25% =25%
7x/4*25/100=7x/16=210
210*16/7=3360/7

Simran ;
Let the real price of the product be X
The marked price will be X+ 3X/4 = 7X/4
Now for selling purpose discount was set to 25%
i.e discount = 7X/4 * 25/100
Discount = 7X/16
Selling price = 7X/4 - 7X/16 = 21X/16
Profit = 21X/16 - X = 5X/16
We know profit is 210.
5X/16 = 210
X = 672.
Therefore the real price of the product is 672
