Jee main is an engineering entrance examination conducted for admission in following colleges:-

It is also accepted by several other colleges. Jee main is even accepted for several state Engineering counsellings like UP, Bihar, Jharkhand etc

Jee main eligibility criteria is given below-
---------------------------) Qualification required :- to be eligible for JEE mains you need 10+2/equivalent qualification from a recognised board.

-------------------------) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of passing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible for JEE mains 2022 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent in 2022 or should have passed it in 2021 or 2020
So, by 3 chances it simply means that you are eligible for all the sessions of Jee main for 3 years starting from the year of passing your class 12 board examination
For example ,
If your year of passing 12th board examination is 2022
Then, you

-------------------------) There is no age limit to be eligible
-------------------------) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Main for BE /Btech.
But yes,
To be eligible for BE/BTech in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category or needs to be in top 20 percentile of their board examination.
IMPORTANT NOTE :- This minimum percentage barrier of 75 % - 65% for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs has been lifted off for jee main 2022 . It means to be eligible all you need to be eligible is to have at least passed 12th .

After jee main, you need to participate in josaa counselling through which you are alloted a seat in NITs, IIITs, CFTIs on the basis of your rank in jee main.
Admission in even IITs is through josaa counselling but it is on the basis of your rank in jee advanced. And for jee advanced you need to qualify jee main first.

Jee main examination syllabus for BE/Btech is basically syllabus of 11th and 12th NCERT for Physics, Chemistry and Maths

JEE Mains 2022 for BE/Btech , will have 90 question, out of which 75 questions needs to be attempted
And these questions are from three subjects :-

* 30 questions from physics.

* 30 questions from Chemistry .

* 30 questions from maths.
The 30 questions in each Subject, is divided into two sections -
-
*Section A :- A Section contains 20 MCQs or multiple-choice questions. Four options are there out of which one is correct . And you have to choose the correct option.

* Section B :- it has 10 questions whose answer is a numerical value , no options is there , you need to enter or type your answer i. e numerical value .
††††† One has to attempt only 5 questions out of the total 10 numerical value questions in section B.

It is conducted for a total of 300 marks

*4 marks will be awarded for your every correct answer

* 1 mark will be deducted for your every wrong answer in case of both mcqs ( section A) and numeric value answer ( i. e section B)
