First of all I would like to suggest that concentrate on your core subjects. Apart from syllabus you can go for some AutoCAD training programs to groom yourself. Now here comes the aptitude, as you are studying mechanical engineering so I am expecting you have a strong ability to solve numerical questions. If not better develop it ASAP coz its gonna hurt you all 4 years. Practice RS Aggarwal and RD Sharma aptitude books.
