As per the latest updates, there would be almost 900% hike in the current fee structure of the M.Tech courses offered at the IITs to the GATE qualified candidates and also entirely stop the monthly stipend of Rs.12,800 which was awarded to the students for payment as half time teaching pay during the tenure of the course. This step is taken in order to reduce the number of dropouts from IITs. There will be no additional facility given to the students who are pursuing the M.Tech courses at the prestigious IITs.
