Actually i am a student aspiring for Neet UG 2022 belonging to OBC category & i hv uploaded expired RBA certificate bcoz i am unable to upload renewed 1 due to some reasons. Would i be able to avail the benefits of OBC during counselling (since at that time i would b having renewed RBA certificate).

Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act 2004 furnishes reservation to three types of communities viz; STs, SCs and OBCs (centrally listed OBCs in addition to State listed Other Backward Classes viz; ALC, RBA etc). The J&K Reservation Act 2004 announced distinct areas as Socially and Educationally Backward, to which it furnishes Resident of Backward Area (RBA) certificate and likewise, other backward categories of state are too granted with respective category certificate for reservation in state quota. RBA is only applicable in J&K, not at the central level. Your RBA certificate even if it was not expired would not have helped you during registration as NEET has no provision for reservation under the RBA category. You will be considered a general candidate under NEET. When counselling happens after the completion of the exam and result declaration you must fill in the details about your category on the official JKBOPEE website. Counselling will happen at the state level you should take your RBA certificate and you will be able to avail yourself of benefits under the reservation for RBA.
