Admission in engineering colleges on board marks
HI TUMBURU,
Nowadays,one cannot get admission into engineering colleges just on the basis of the class 12 scores.
For the top Central Goverment engineering colleges like IITs,NITs,IIITs etc one has to sit for the JEE MAINS and subsequently if they qualify it then have to sit for the JEE ADVANCED for admissions into the IITs.For NITs and IIITs one has to qualify only the JEE MAIN and onn its basis only the admissions are granted into the NITs and IIITs.
For the good State Government colleges like JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY etc one has to sit for the respective State board entrance examination like WBJEE(West Bengal Joint Entrance Examnimation) for adminition into Jadavpur etc.
For the Private Colleges like SRM,KIIT,VIT etc one has to sit for there private entrance examinations like VITEE(VELLORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION) for VIT,KIITEE(KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION )for KIIT etc etc.
NOTE-Before 2018 JEE MAIN a certain percentage of board marks was taken into account but from 2018 onwards that board marks weightage was removed.

One cannot simply get admission through class12th scores.
