After B.Tech Mechanical enhineering what are the courses that have best scope in future?
Hi
Mechanical engineering is a core engineering branch and is one of the oldest engineering branches
which is called the Mother of all engineering branches for a reason. Every product we see around us , in
some way or the other have a link with this branch. From everyday objects like writing pens to huge
rockets that blast off to space are all gifts of mechanical engineering. This is the branch which started
the Industrial revolution with the advent of steam engines, thermal power plants and heavy machineries
in factories which resulted in a huge boost in production rate. Mechanical engineering has come a long
way over the years. Man wouldn’t have learnt to fly like the birds if aeroplanes weren’t built or reach
space through rockets if knowledge of this branch did not exist. In recent times we have seen the world
aiming towards greener technology or in other words technology that would not cause harm to the
Earth’s environment directly or indirectly. Examples of green technologies include shifting towards
renewable sources of energy to generate power, electric cars to reduce dependency on fossil fuels to
run the vehicles . Also industries are becoming more automated by making extensive use of robots to
reduce production cost and increase production rate and quality. Robotics is an important sub branch of
mechanical engineering, and in the upcoming future there will be an increase in demand of mechanical
engineers in the field of robotics. Coming to space travel , there has been a growing interest among
scientists and space agencies on the prospect of colonizing Mars. A lot of research and development is
being made in the field of space exploration to achieve Mankind’s next giant leap. We will surely
colonize Mars by the end of this century and engineers and scientists around the globe are extremely
optimistic and excited about achieving this goal. These were the most important breakthroughs that
would happen in the future in the field of mechanical engineering. The future is bright in this field and
opportunities will increase even more in the future.
Coming to the various courses , you can specialise in after a bachelors in Mechanical engineering are as follows:-
- Product design and analysis
- Thermal enginering
- Manufacturing engineering
- Robotics
- Aerospace engineering
- Automobile engineering
- Engineering management
- Power engineering
- Mining engineering
Being a future mechanical engineer in making , you will be a part of this beautiful engineering branch that keeps the world running. My best wishes to you.
Thanks
There are many options you can opt after B.E/ B.tech Mechanical Engineering, It depends on your interest & Potential. If you are interested to go for further study, After completing your B.Tech studies. M.Tech is the next step that allows you to select your field of expertise and excel in it, Specialization in a particular field like Mechanical Design, Nanotechnology, Micro Electro Mechanical Systems, Structural Analysis etc. provide you an edge during job interviews.
The other option, If you are interested for MBA programme then Some of the specialization like HR, Marketing, Digital Marketing, International Relations, Sales and more are some of the well-known and preferred specializations.
You can also go for short term courses like CATIA, Auto CAD or Creo etc. to boost your skills.
For engineering graduates, there is the IES Entrance Exam which is conducted mainly for four engineering branches like Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Electrical. If you feel that a government job will provide you with much better facilities and a safeguarded future.
You can go as per your interest.
Good Luck!
