It totally depends upon you to either go for CLAT or COMEDK. If you are genuinely interested in law and would persue it surely if you get some NLU then go for it. Otherwise if you want to study engineering then COMEDK is a vety good opportunity which, in my opinion, you shouldnt miss. Also, you will have to study subjects different from your class 12 course to take CLAT. This too needs preparation. While you can take COMEDK without studying any subject other than your basic class 12 subjects. Think and select wisely.
