Indian Institutes of Technology or IITs are autonomous public institutions that provide higher education in the field of Technology.
IITs are not private.
Institutes of Technology Act has declared them as institutions of higher importance. The IITs have a common admission process for undergraduate admissions to it's various branches,the Joint Entrance Examination-Advanced(IIT JEE Advanced).It is located at 23 places across India and is known for creating excellent engineers which aim to create difference in world.
