Hey,
For science stream students IITs and NITs are a dream colleges to pursue their undergraduate or graduate course study.
The names of these colleges are considered brand and students choose these colleges just because of theri brand name.
North Eastern NITs are good but not that brilliant to be very honest. If you are the one who wants a tag from NIT you can go for the colleges of North East. But if you have good options then I will suggest you to go for it.
In short North eastern NIT are pretty good if you don't want to waste your year or you don't have any other good option to go with.
