Are we bound to give the 1st attempt to jee advanced during 12th exam only and if we did not do so then will getonlyone chance for jee adv.

There is nothing like that you can give it later you can appear for maximum 5 attempts . So good luck for it

No, you are not bound to take JEE Advanced in the same year as that of your qualifying exam (12th) year. You can take the first attempt in the next year and still you will have 1 more attempt left to appear in JEE Advanced.

There are only 2 attempts. This means that you can take JEE Advanced a maximum of 2 times, in 2 consecutive years. Whosoever commented this 5 attempts is completely incorrect. The number of attempts is determined by the qualifying year. So, yes, if you have appeared in class 12th in March 2017 or 2018, then you are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2018. Your second attempt would be 2019. However, in case your 12th result of 2015-16 was announced after June 2016, then in this case also, you are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2018. However, the number of attempts would remain 2 only.

There are various eligibility criteria combinations which are taken into account to decide these number of attempts - For example, the candidates must not exceed 25 years (Gen) of age by October 1 of the admission year. Reserved category candidates must not be more than 30 years by Oct 1 of the admission year.
