As you are in your second semester then it means you will graduate in 2021. So, you can give CAT in your 5th semester i.e.  in November 2020.
It is good that you have started preparing for entrance now. Be consistent, and you'll be able to crack the exam easily. Also, try to keep your grades consistently higher. And also keep applying for internships to improve your CV. If your goal is admission in one of the IIMs, then all these factors contribute greatly to chances to your selection.

Since you're done with 2 semester if I'm not wrong you've completed you first year? CAT is an exam for MBA and you can apply for MBA only when you are eligible for it.

The prior most eligibility is that you have to be a graduate at an field and should score more than 50% marks in aggregate. So, once you're done with you are done with your 5th sem then you can apply for CAT.
