The assertion in the statement provided that the molecular orbitals with higher energy are called antibonding orbitals is completely correct but its reason is not completely sufficient.
the main reason behind the antibonding orbitals concept is that when an electron pair formed by bonding of 2 two atoms form a bond, the use their bonding orbitals for the purpose and the rest electrons are sent to higher energy state which are referred as antibonding orbitals.
