B. Tech in Agricultural and Information Technology is a combination of Agricultural Studies and IT. The duration of the course is 4 years including 8 semesters .
Agricultural Information Technology is designed to train students in the fields of both agricultural sciences and IT .

70% of India’s population is dependent on Agriculture for its livelihood . Considering this , the use of ICT in Agriculture is of strategic importance here . ICT has tremendous utility in timely collection of data and its distribution to potential users across developing countries as well .
Eligibility -

• The candidate is required to have passed the class  XII examination with Physics , Chemistry , and Mathematics as the main subjects .
• A mimimum of 50% marks must be obtained by the candidate in the qualifying exam .
  

Admission Procedure -

• Admission to the course is done through State level entrance tests and is based on performance therein .
• For IITs , it is mandatory to qualify the Joint Entrance Examinations ( JEE MAINS ) .

The course fee is different for every college and the average fee per year is INR 2 Lacs . Some of the important subjects covered in the course are Introduction to Computers , Introduction to Agriculture , Communication Skills , Physics , Programming in C Language , Introduction to World Wide Web and Botany .

The course is offered at some prominent agriculture universities in the country .
