The 80-90 percentile in JEE Main 2022 is usually equivalent to a JEE Main rank between 1,50,000 and 3,00,000. That means a candidate who scored between 80 and 90 percentiles on the JEE Main exam has a chance to enrol in B. Tech programmes at NITs and IIITs. However, your category (SC/ST/OBC) and place of residence are what matter most in such percentile.
I'd advise you to be ready for your JEE-Main retake and aim for a score of at least 98 percentile to get into a reputable NIT.
