BTech lateral entry, to put it simply, is the straight admission of a candidate into the third semester of the second year of engineering after the candidate has completed a diploma in engineering or a B.Sc. in mathematics or physics. Those who are accepted will be eligible for direct admissions and do not need to complete the first year or first two semesters of the B.Tech programme. There are six semesters (3 years) in the course.
