calculate the wavelength of 0.08å xray photon scattered at 30⁰ byba carbon target
Hi Candidate,
Alpha Scattering experiment is the reason why the photos split into two different wavelengths upon collision- incident wavelength and scattered wavelength.
The formula for Scattering wavelength is given by- $-$'= (h/m*c)* (1-cos30), where h is the plank's constant, m is the mass of electron, c is the speed of light, and $ refers to the wavelength. So, the value of (h/m*c)*(1-cos30)= -.888 Angstrom. So, the value of scattered photon is .08+.88 =0.98 Angstrom.
Hope that this answer helps you. All The Best.
