Yes a biology student can get admission in biotechnology course in Motilal Nehru NIT, prayagraj but the only way to get admission is by giving JEE MAINS exam.
If you score good marks in JEE MAINS then only you will be called for admission. Assuming you're a general category student, you need to have a rank less than 30,000 as the closing rank for last year biotechnology branch was 30,949. It totally depends upon the level of question paper whether the cut off would be high or low this year.
The eligibility criteria for Jee Mains nowhere says that a biology student cannot sit for JEE MAINS. Though the question paper of Jee mains consists of physics, chemistry and Mathematics sections, you can definitely write this exam. You must have had physics and chemistry at +2 level and even if you didn't had Mathematics at 10+2 level you can prepare the basics from the NCERT books and with some practice you can score good and get admission in Motilal Nehru NIT.
