Can a student who has a year gab in between the B.E course which has extended more than 4 year's can apply for gate exam ??

See, there is no such criteria where you have to show that you took 5 years to complete your Bachelor's degree. All that is required while filling the application form is 'Year of passing of your degree'. Thus, no need to worry for the same. You are eligible to apply for the GATE entrance examination for 2020, since, the application form of GATE 2019 is closed now.

i think you can give gate,since it has no age limit for the eligibility criteria.but you have to explain about that gap during your interview.try to score more.
