Can any body plse provide details information about Msc-Phd in Molecular medical microbiology course .?
Dear candidate,
M.Sc.-PhD in Molecular Medical Microbiology is an integrated course provided jointly by Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP) and Tata Medical Center (TMC), Kolkata. M.Sc. in Molecular Medical Microbiology is of two years duration, while for PhD minimum is 3 years and maximum is 8 years.
The course is amalgamation of medical science with technology and the molecular study of medical microbiology is to train medical doctors in molecular diagnosis of both communicable and noncommunicable diseases, to train microbiologists in molecular diagnosis of diseases, who can work in hospitals and contribute to the decision making process along with the core medical practitioners, they can contribute greatly as scientists in industries and academia.
Admission is through Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. conducted by IIT Kharagpur. All India Rank (AIR) is assigned to all the appeared candidates based on the performance of the candidates in the test paper and merit list is prepared accordingly.
Eligibility Criteria is all candidates admitted through JAM should have a Bachelor’s degree with the aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% for General/OBC (NCL) category candidates and 50% for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.
