Can gate only cleared by IITians.

No, this is not true. GATE can be attempted by all the students who are Indian nationals, have either completed their BE/BTech/MSc or be in their final year of relevant degree programs. IITians who have a CGPA above 8 need to just get qualified in GATE, they are directly qualified for the interviews. But most of them prefer to do MS/Phd or dual-degree from foreign universities, so not much IITians are writing the GATE exam.

Oh no! That's a big misconception!!

Gate exam can be cleared by any student who has regularly studied in his BTech years and has a clear understanding of concepts.

If you want to get in some prestigious IIT for MTech, surely you'll have to put in lots of efforts. Prepare well, Solve papers.

But it's not impossible at all!

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) is an entrance examination for pursuing a higher studies that is PG or entering any government sector for job. The question is whether GATE is only cleared by IITians is NO. All college students have equal chance in clearing GATE. GATE syllabus is mostly what we study in our 4 years course in Engineering. It is not the fact that IITians are brilliant, even many IITian cant even clear GATE. If you have a great subject knowledge in your stream, you will definetly get pass in the examination and if you write the exam with good practice and preparation you will get good percentile. So please never think that IITians are the greatest engineers. They are engineers studied in great college but think we are great engineers studying in good college.

Prepare well for the GATE exam and go through your subjects deeply you will definitely get good percentile. Wish you do that all.
