can i appear in olympiad maths if i fail class 12?
Hi,
Yes you can.
The NO(National Olympiad) takes place in two levels, Level 1 and Level 2.
To apply for Level 1 exam, there are no criteria for minimum marks , so the Olympiad is open to all school students.
But, only the students who perform well in Level 1 exam will be shortlisted for Level 2.
Students who will be eligible for level 2 are:
- Top 5% of the students from each class who appeared for Level 1 exam
- Top 25 zone wise rank holders from each class
- Class toppers from each participating school where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exam and score 50% qualifying marks.
But in most cases, you will be eligible for writing the Olympiad only if you are in school, i.e. upto class 12.
- SOF conducts Olympiads for students from class 1 to 12.
- Silverzone conducts Olympiads for students from class 1 to 12.
- Similarly, Unified council allows students from class 1 to 12 for Olympiads.
- IJSO or Junior Science Olympiad is for students till class 10.
- Regional Mathematics Olympiad is for students from class 8 to 12.
- International Physics, Chemistry and Astronomy Olympiads are also for students till class 12.
So, as per your question you can give Maths Olympiad..
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
