Yes, you can apply for the HSC 12th re-exam (compartment/supplementary) even after a gap of 5 years, but the process depends upon board to board. Like for example, in Maharashtra board, you are allowed to reappear for the exam as a private/external candidate even after a gap of many years. So see your respective board's policy ones to confirm the procedure.
